Thom Sevalrud is an artist, illustrator and educator who lives and works in Toronto, Canada. He has studied illustration, design and fine art and is a graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design. For more than 20 years, Thom’s work has appeared in a wide variety of international publications, as well as producing images for clients in book publishing, graphic design and corporate communications.

He has created work for a large and diverse group of international clients including Business Week, Utne Reader, Mother Jones, Chicago Tribune, Rolling Stone, Scientific American, The Globe and Mail, Washington Post, Cottage Life, German Vogue, Frommer’s Budget Travel, Canada Post (a stamp for the Millennium Collection), Sun Life Financial, United Airlines, Pfiser, The American Cancer Society, Double Day Canada, Mudd Puddle Books, Duncan Baird Publishers, Sterling Publishing and TD Canada Trust to name just a few. His book covers have been commissioned for markets in Italy, Germany and Great Britain.

Thom’s illustration work has received numerous awards and multiple-recognition from: American Illustration, Communication Arts Illustration Annual, Creative Quarterly, How Magazine, Applied Arts Awards Annual, The Art Director’s Club Of Toronto, Studio Magazine, CAPIC.

In addition to being an illustrator, he teaches illustration at both the Sheridan College ITAL and at the Ontario College Of Art And Design in Toronto. Thom also pursues other art avenues in conjunction to his illustration career. He is a member of a fine art collective and has also explored performative-based artwork.
